Roger M. Battistella is a professor emeritus in the former Department of Policy Analysis and Management. He is the former director of the Sloan Program in Health Administration. He conducts research in social policy as well as studying trends in the restructuring of healthcare in highly developed countries. Based on new economic and social realities, his most recent publications maintain that health care policy has reached a turning point and that practicality and pragmatism rather than ideology now dominates health policy deliberations.
