The Perils of AI Regulation

On March 21st the Adam Smith Society Cornell and the Cornell Brooks Tech Policy Institute co-hosted a wide-ranging debate on ‘The Perils of AI Regulation’. Katherine Mangu-Ward, editor-in-chief of Reason magazine, opened the discussion with a talk on both government and private regulation. This event was followed the next day by a debate, Chaired by BTPI Executive Director Dr James Patton Rogers, on the need for government-led AI Regulation.
Bio: Prior to Reason, Mangu-Ward worked for The Weekly Standard and The New York Times. She has written for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and numerous other publications, and won the Kenneth Y. Tomlinson Award for Outstanding Journalism from The Fund for American Studies.
