Olivia J. Healy studies applied microeconomics, with a focus on family, gender, and education. One current line of her research explores the effect of childbirth on mothers’ and fathers’ job performance and health. In another line of research, she examines intended and unintended consequences of government efforts to expand access to high-quality early care and education programs.

Olivia Healy previously worked as a research assistant at the Urban Institute in Washington D.C. where she contributed to research on publicly funded social programs, including Head Start, home visiting programs, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and the childcare subsidy system

She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell and her Ph.D. from Northwestern.
