Sule Alan’s research interests include education, education and social policy evaluations, human and social capital formation and gender. She is a member of the faculty at the Brooks School and the Department of Economics.
Professor Alan is the co-chair of the Humanitarian Initiative at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and a board member of the Innovation in Government Initiative, a research fellow at CEPR, an affiliate at the Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) and CESifo. She is a co-editor of the Economic Journal and associate editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
Professor Alan received her Ph.D. in Economics from McMaster University, her M.A. in Economics from York University and her BSc in Economics from Middle East Technical University. She is also a CFA.
