BTPI Junior Fellows Awarded Prestigious Laidlaw Scholarships
BTPI Junior Fellows Cynthia Tan and Danyal Hyland Hassan were appointed to the Laidlaw Leadership and Research Program as Laidlaw Scholars. This highly competitive program promotes ethical leadership and international research around the world. Supervised by BTPI Executive Director, James Patton Rogers, and aided by BTPI fellows Jon McCandless, Judith Germano, and Amelia Arsenault, Cynthia and Dan were able to engage in policy-focused research over the summer months. Cynthia worked closely with the FBI’s Cyber Division in New York and Dan worked on a NATO SPS-funded project alongside conducting cutting-edge research into semiconductors. In 2025, Laidlaw will fund both scholars to conduct international research abroad.
