Program on Applied Demographics

Located within the Cornell Population Center, in the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, we use population-level data and other available research to provide context and perspective to people working to shape New York State’s future.

Cornell’s Program on Applied Demographics (PAD) brings skills in demographics, economics, statistics, data gathering and data analysis together to provide a variety of organizations with data, information and advice. PAD works closely with the New York State Department of Labor, the U.S. Census Bureau and other organizations to assist them in their activities. Our work informs decision-making, evaluation, and policy across New York State, where we serve organizations and people in all 62 counties. Examples of PAD’s activities can be found here.
