Adriana Reyes’ research focus is on family demography and health disparities across the life course. Her work aims to understand how family ties provide social capital to help individuals navigate the life course, and how these family ties perpetuate inequalities across race and class. Professor Reyes’ current projects examine intergenerational family exchanges, including bequests; the financial and health consequences of living arrangements; and public attitudes and perceptions regarding family responsibility for caregiving. She has recently published on family exchanges across the life course in Research on Aging and on attitudes towards aging policy in Journal of Aging and Social Policy.
She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and her Ph.D. in Sociology and Demography at Penn State in 2016.
