MPA Program Course Guide
The MPA Program is an interdisciplinary program. You work with your advisor to design an individual program of study using courses from across the university. The MPA Course Guide is designed to help you make sense of the dizzying array of course options that exist here at Cornell.
In the course guide, you will find a pre-approved list of courses that may be used to fulfill degree requirements for Foundation Coursework and Concentration Coursework (see the MPA Program Handbook for a complete listing of MPA requirements).
This course guide is by no means exhaustive. You may find classes listed in Cornell’s comprehensive listing of Courses of Study that are not listed here, but which you believe would enhance your MPA studies. If you find that to be the case, you will need to complete a petition form and receive advisor approval for these courses to be included in your program of study.
Please note that students are required to complete program requirements as defined by the Program Handbook and Course Guide that was published when they matriculated. For example, students beginning their studies in fall semester 2022 will be working with the courses outlined in the 2022-23 Course Guide. Students who began in the fall of 2021 or the spring of 2021 will be working under the 2021-22 MPA Course Guide.
