The new faculty will have as their colleagues 90 tenure track, research, and teaching faculty who joined the Brooks School when it launched in September 2021. Brooks is designed to advance policy solutions to address the most serious societal problems of our time. While the new faculty will have high level expertise in a specific area, they will be joining a school where the pursuit of knowledge crosses disciplines.
Profound challenges like climate change, grinding poverty, growing inequality, and the fragility of democracy in the U.S., cannot be solved within the bounds of a single scholarly discipline, said Inaugural Dean Colleen Barry.
“Persistent problems of that magnitude require us to pull together, to collaborate and innovate, and to understand how the policy process works in the real world,” Barry said.
“We are building a world-class faculty of scholars who embrace a shared mission to inform policymakers and other decision makers, educate future leaders and serve the greater good.”
Barry said the school is seeking to recruit stellar public policy research scholars who are dedicated to educating policy students and oriented toward public engagement and policy impact.
The positions are posted now with the goal of successfully recruiting new faculty to join the Brooks School faculty before the end of 2022.
