@CornellTPI Fellows had the unique opportunity to have breakfast with historian and former President of Iceland: Guðni Th. Jóhannesson. The President shared stories as a former Head of State and how he was able to connect with the Icelandic citizens and other political leaders.
The President shared his goals for preserving the Icelandic language and having more common stories that brings people together. We are so grateful for his time and sharing his valuable experiences with us.

At @CornellTPI, we sit at the intersection of emerging technology and national security, which means the ongoing standoff between the Pentagon and @AnthropicAI lands squarely in our wheelhouse. It involves questions about what AI systems should and shouldn’t do and more.
This timeline: sets the stage for a deeper conversation. It maps how the standoff developed, who the key players are, and what’s actually at stake. It also provided a grounded analysis of essentially, the problem of the next decade.

@CornellTPI was proud to host Polar Frontlines, a geostrategic simulation focused on the evolving security dynamics of the Arctic, funded by the Homeland Defense Institute at @af_academy.
The exercise examined how allies navigate hybrid drone threats and critical infrastructure disruption in the rapidly changing Arctic. We were particularly honored to welcome President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson of Iceland as our special guest. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Today, the @CornellTPI hosted Adam Maltz, Deputy Bureau Chief in the Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, for a Tech Talk with TPI Fellows and students in @DrJamesRogers’ class.
Maltz discussed his career path into cybercrime prosecution and described how his office collaborates with multiple U.S. agencies to investigate and prosecute complex cases, including money laundering, SIM swapping, and more. The session was so informative!
