The Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy is now the Cornell Brooks Center for Infrastructure (BCI)
Founded by Dr. Rick Geddes in 2012, the Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy (CPIP) has always aspired to become the nation’s premier academic center focused on infrastructure delivery. With a new academic home in Cornell’s Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy and a new set of strategic goals, we will be pursuing this goal in entirely new ways.
CPIP is heading in a bold new direction focused on the complex intersection of infrastructure delivery, technological innovation, and public policy at the local, regional, state, national, and global levels. The AI-driven “InfraTech” movement is upon us, and the resulting innovations and disruptions will require a paradigm shift in the way that infrastructure is funded, maintained, and delivered. Our new direction will enable us to be at the forefront of this paradigm shift.
Our new direction will also be accompanied by a brand new name—the Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy is now the Cornell Brooks Center for Infrastructure (BCI). This new name was formally announced during our recent Fall Board Meeting held at Cornell Tech. In the coming weeks, we will be updating our website as well as our social media channels. We will also be announcing a number of innovative initiatives related to infrastructure research, teaching, student engagement, and outreach. This includes new opportunities for key external stakeholders to partner with BCI, the Brooks School, and Cornell University as a whole.
Stay tuned for more details—in the meantime, enjoy these images from our recent Cornell BCI launch event!
